It is not a staunton set, due to the opposite color finials in Bishops, although it is in fact very similar.
The design is from eastern europe with lot of similiarities with russian sets.
An original Dubrovnik 1950.
The noj reproduction 1970 is nearly an exact copy.
It has no religious symbols. The set is based in the Dubrovnik chess set used in the olympiad of 1950 and the modification done in the 70s.
See "Modern Dubrovnik" to have more info and know the background of the set.
This set was the favourite of Bobby Fischer who claimed it was the best set to play with. Due to this it has become popular lately.
Several manufacturers have started doing replicas of these chess sets.
Gregor Novak of Noj. Ltd (https://noj.si/) makes by hand and offers for sale an exact replica in wood of both the 1950 Dubrovnik chess set and the 1970 Dubrovnik chess set.
Since 2014, Chessbazaar (http://www.chessbazaar.com/) and the House of Staunton (https://www.houseofstaunton.com/) have offered an inexact replica in wood of the 1970 Dubrovnik chess set.
Even, there are some local manufacturers that are currently doing updated versions of these pieces (see "Modern Dubrovnik")
Bought in 2015 in Chessbazaar (India)
Sheesham and Boxwood, weighted.
This set has a king of 91mm-40mm and a pawn of 45mm-30mm. It suits best in 55mm chessboards.
It is based on the 1950 set, although it has a lot of differences. The bishops are fatter and the knights only keep a resemblance of the originals. The rook has 5 crenelations as the original set.

The carving of knights is slightly more detail than previous.
The rook has 6 crenelations, which is innacurate as the original one has only 5 (as the tips of the yugoslavian star). Also the queen changes from one model to the other.
