Today, August 14, we journeyed to Rooster Hill Farms in Fults, Illinois. It's about a 1 hour 15 min drive from St. Charles, but it was through beautiful landscape and shared with good friends. 24 ladies gathered together and enjoyed a wonderful experience. Among the 24 were Karen, a relative of Jeanie and Barb and my Mom, Jody. We wandered through the delightful gift shop and spoke with Jeannette, the owner/chef/all-around journey(wo)man. She's an amazing lady! She came to Illinois to retire and now, she and her husband farm 24 acres and provide all the fresh ingredients for the café/restaurant. We met the chickens who provide the eggs and saw the vegetable gardens and fruit trees that all go into her WONDERFUL, mouthwatering dishes. And let me just say now.... the limoncello dessert was beyond description of amazing!! Here's her website: Rooster Hill Farm Café and Gift Emporium
