Sometime ago we had a wonderful visitor to our meeting- Judy Steege, a sister P.E.O. and Director of Admissions at Cottey College. She gave an stirring program on Cottey and what we can do to move Cottey into the future. We really got a fire lit under us that morning!! I decided to create a new page on our site so we can keep those fires burning!
Cottey College is in Nevada, MO and is an independent, liberal arts and sciences college for women with 2-year and selected 4-year programs. A Cottey Education emphasizes high academic standards with unique opportunities for personal growth through residential, cultural and intellectual experiences.
Cottey College is owned and supported by the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic educational organization that is dedicated to providing excellent educational opportunities for women. Cottey's funds are raised by our P.E.O. sisterhood and the college has NO DEBT! The annual cost in 2021 is $30,570. This includes tuition, room, board and fees. Cottey offers a comprehensive program of financial assistance options including scholarships, grants, student employment and loans. How much your education will cost depends on your family's financial circumstances and your academic background. The average student's out-of-pocket costs are usually around $5,000/year.
Cottey hosts a Summer Workshop each year for students. Participants will develop fundamental skills, such as service learning and networking, which will prepare them for college and future careers. Workshop participants who choose to attend Cottey will receive a $3,000 annual scholarship, totaling $12,000 if the participant stays for all four years.
Cottey is the ONLY college in the US that guarantees- and pays airfare and lodging for- an international travel experience for EVERY 2nd year student! The European travel experience is enhanced by integrated teaching modules relevant to the destination city. Many students extend their European experience by adding on an additional week at the end. They are free to plan their own itinerary for that week.
