P.E.O. Chapter LR Summer Luncheon 2011

To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the War Between the States we stepped back in time by visiting the Ulysses S Grant National Historic Site where a National Park Service Historian presented an overview of the Civil War- including what part our area played in the War.
There was also a video presentation, a museum to visit and White Haven, Grant's home, which we walked through.
We then traveled a short distance to The Oakland House, an antebellum mansion where lunch was served in the mansion’s dining room after a tour of the beautiful 1853 estate.
