As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, we have invited six Jungian analysts to discuss the fate of Jungian psychology in our contemporary world. These exceptional individuals comprise two distinct generations of practitioners. We will ask them how their experiences over the decades have changed and how they foresee the future of Jungian analysis, especially in light of an increasingly turbulent world.
We will also explore the role of local societies vis-à-vis the global perspective.
Jan Bauer has been practicing as a Jungian analyst in Montreal for four decades. Her travels led her from her stomping grounds in California and Massachusetts to North Africa and Paris and Zürich, before finding her soul home here in Montreal.
James Hollis is a venerable author and teacher whose presence on the Jungian “circuit” for decades is most impressive. His erudition, humility and wit make him a cherished figure on the world stage.
Tom Kelly has been practicing as an analyst in Montreal for four decades but he hails from northern Québec; he has served as president of the IAAP in a time of great expansion.
Stefano Carpani is a rising star in the Jungian firmament. His works include two anthologies of contemporary classics addressed to the New Ancestors; a 2024 book Absolute Freedom; along with his biweekly podcast, Psychosocial Wednesdays, and his publishing arm, Jungianeum. All these point to an enthusiastic and energetic soul, perhaps representative of a new generation of Jungian analysts.
Stacey Jenkins has served as president of the Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts (OAJA) and its affiliate organization, the Jung Foundation of Ontario. She made her Montreal début during a panel discussion on the Covid Pandemic in February 2024. She spoke to our society on Sacrifice and the Individuation Process in 2023.
David Pressault has practiced as a Jungian analyst in such diverse places as Victoria, B.C. and Mexico. In an earlier career, David was a dancer and choreographer in Montréal. He has been a regular contributor and serves as faculty of JungArchademy, an online Jungian platform.
