What We Believe

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,'

and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,

you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

What does it mean to say that the Church is catholic?

In the context of our belief, the word “catholic” does not refer to Catholicism (the Roman Catholic Church), but instead, it simply means “universal.” The Church is universal in two ways. First, the Church is universal because all baptized people are part of the Church and the Church possesses the means of salvation. Second, the mission of the Church is universal because the Church has been sent to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire human race.
