WE ARE EXCITED TO WELCOME FOUR GUEST SPEAKERS FOR A VERY EXCITING PROGRAM!


Dr. Emily Hauser, Lecturer in Classics from the University of Exeter and author of a trilogy including For the Immortal, will present a talk via video conference from UK on her thoughts on Reception of Myth and her recent reflections on Roman Women.


Bettina Joy de Guzman, Classics teacher and musician, will offer a presentation on Ancient Music and a live performance on two lyres. Ms. De Guzman has been interviewed on Greek TV, recorded and performed ancient music at classical sites. She conducted research at numerous museums, and recently collaborated with Dr. Nikos Xanthoulis.


Dr. Nikos Xanthoulis, composer, artistic consultant at the Greek National Opera, and correspondent member of AIA, will offer a brief performance and a chance for Q and A on Ancient Music via video-conference from Athens, Greece.


Dr. Andromache Karanika, Associate Professor in Classics from the University of California-Irvine will present "Wedding Songs in Ancient Greece: A Journey into Lost Poetry and Female Experiences." She is author of Voices at Work: Women, Performance, and Labor and lists her other interests as the interactions of lyric and epic and women in myth and legend.
