The new 4-H year begins on October 1st of each year. To join our club, you must first become a member of 4-H. This being said, some of our groups begin meetings in September due to the competition seasons beginning before October 1st. Please check the calendar for information meetings, because that is when you will be signing up for 4-H, and space is limited.
This 4-H club is a youth organization that is open to anyone ages 6 through 18 that lives in Clark County. Members have access to all aspects of 4-H, including participation at the Clark County Fair. Once it is October 1st, you can join the 4-H by completing an online form. Go HERE. If you are still having problems signing up online, contact Phoebe Jud at the 4-H office, 564-397-5730 . Everyone, even returning members, needs to sign up for the new 4-H year.
All Lego Builders, Lego SPIKE Programmers, and the FIRST Tech Challenge Team (FTC) meetings are held at the Historic WSU Heritage Farm on 1919 NE 78th Street. Please check the calendar on our website for dates and times. You will need to park behind or next to the building. Then walk up to the Head House through the pedestrian gate (code 5412). FRC Robotics Team CloverBots meet at Prairie High School.
For ages 6 - 12 we have a group called Lego Builders than meets Mondays (exceptions for holidays). Younger Lego Builders work primarily with building and motors, they will also have the opportunity to work on programming with the We Do2, NXT and EV3 kits.
For ages 10 - 14 we have Lego Robotics teams that meet Thursdays (except for holidays). This group is limited to 10 members so that each member has their own robot to create and program. The robots have a set of missions that they are challenged to complete within a specified amount of time. This group will participate in an in-club competition during the fair. Prizes and awards will be given out on the last day of the fair.
For ages 13 - 18 we have a FIRST Tech Challenge team that meet Mondays and Thursdays (except on holidays). During the competition season of September through January, the group may also meet on the occasional Friday and also on some Saturdays due to the competitions. This group works with metal parts, 3-D modeling software, and the REV Robotics build system. The teams compete in two local competitions and a regional competition.
To join any 4-H group, you must register online (click on green bar below). Before you register, please speak with the club leader to obtain the correct club and projects to sign up for. To join 4-H Robotics, there is a $50 fee that is due in October. The fee is used to purchase materials for the club. All leaders and mentors are volunteers and are not paid in any way.
