FIRST Robotics Competition - High School students
Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school students participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”
High school students, are you interested in designing, building, or programming robots? What about connecting with local businesses or working on your public speaking skills? These opportunities and more are available to you when you become a member of a FIRST robotics team.
FIRST Tech Challenge
For 7th-12th grade students who are interested in designing, building, and programming a robot.
However, it’s way more than building robots. FIRST Tech Challenge teams then take their robot to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format.
Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team.
Lego Builders and Programmers
Students ages 6-14 focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore mechanical designing using Legos and power function motors. For those interested in programming, there are opportunities for programming with the WeDo2, NXT mindstorm, and EV3 Mindstorm.
3-D Modeling
Students ages 8 - 18 are invited to join the 3-D modeling group. This group will meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month.
The platform explored are TinkerCAD and OnShape.
