SUMMER CAMPS
July and August of 2025
Lego SPIKE Prime 2025 summer camps now taking registrations! Two options: July 14 - 18 and August 18 - 22. Each camper will be assigned their own robot kit to learn coding and complete challenges. Fun daily challenges including the Sumo Battle Bot competition. Space is limited, only 10 campers per week. On the final day of camp, the 4-H FTC Robotics team will demonstrate their competition robot and give the campers an opportunity to drive their robots. See the SUMMER CAMPS page for more information.
Congratulations to the CloverBots who are heading to the Championship Event in Houston, Texas. Teams who qualified from all over the world will be in attendance. Team 3674 CloverBots is the only Clark County team who qualified this year!

What are the Clark County 4-H Robotics Clubs?
They are organizations dedicated to teaching valuable Science, Technology and Teamwork skills to our community’s youth. The clubs provide opportunities for members to compete in the FIRST Family of Programs (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). All levels of FIRST are represented:
At the Lego League Explorer level, team members build educational displays using Lego bricks, motors, and power elements.
The next step is FIRST Lego League (FLL), a mid-level robotics program in which each team uses a LEGO (R) Mindstorm Spike Prime robot kit to meet an annual robotics challenge. Students design and build a robot to complete tasks on a 4 foot by 7 foot competition field. Members also research and present a project based on real world issues.
In the FIRST Technical Challenge (FTC), team members grades 7 through 12 use the REV Robotics system to control and operate their robots. The robot is constructed using extrusion, motors, sensors, as well as student designed parts and is approximately an 18 inch cube in its starting configuration. Students also program and drive this robot.
Lastly, the FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC) is for high school students. This robot is also built using extrusion, motors, sensors, and student designed parts. Though this robot is larger and usually weighs in at about 120 pounds. Students also program and drive this robot to perform game specific tasks.
Locally, these FIRST events are operated by FIRST Washington (FIRSTWA.org).
In 2010, the Clovernauts Club took two teams to the FLL State Championship Tournament in Oregon where both teams won trophies.
Since then, the Clovernauts have developed six more teams including all areas of FIRST: JrFLL, FLL, FTC, and FRC. All told, the Clovernauts have eight teams and serve our community's youth ranging from age 5 through 18.
The Clovernauts also participate in the Clark County Fair and Washington State Fair. And in keeping with the spirit of both FIRST and 4-H, members of the club are involved in community service projects throughout the year.
None of this would be possible without the support of sponsors. The Clovernauts most staunch supporters are: OSPI and CAM Academy, Boeing, IQ Cares, US Digital, HP, and Washington State University Extension 4-H
Thank you Sponsors!
