Introduction to Engineering - Class Notes and Assignments
Explanation of the Class:
This course exposes students to the design process, research and analysis, teamwork, communications methods, global and human impacts, engineering standards, and technical documentation. Students will employ engineering & scientific concepts in the solution of engineering design problems. In addition, they will learn, how to design using various design programs, including 3D solid modeling design software to design solutions to problems. Students will develop problem-solving skills and apply their knowledge of research and design to create solutions, document the process of, and communicate the results. This course satisfies the computer requirement needed for graduation. This is the first level of the courses in Engineering that are offered here at Cypress Bay High School.
Prerequisite: None
Special Note: Upon the successful completion of this and the other two engineering
classes, students will be eligible for Bright Futures Gold Seal Award.
BSTA/SkillsUSA Club Affiliation:
Students are strongly encouraged to join the co-curricular club BSTA/SkillsUSA. As a member of the club, students will be given the opportunity to practice their teamwork skills working with students from the other Engineering classes. They will be working on projects for their teachers, school, and the community. The students will also be given the opportunity to compete in the various competitions that we attend each year on the local, state, and national levels.

dimension, label, and present the drawing made in class.
2. AutoCAD - This 2D design program is base program from which I base my class.
During the year will will learn about and how to use the program.
3. Solidworks - This 3D design program is another program that we will learn to use this
year. is a
