Personal Search Engine - Music

My Music Theory Practice and Reference site (in Rollyo) is located here.  <-- click the link to the left of these directions to open the search engine.  Then, click on the words "search for" and type in your search words.

Using this personalized search engine is fun because it offers tested, reliable hands-on, game-like activites for students to improve the skills of note reading and ear training, at a level that each can self-set to challenge (but not frustrate) him/herself.  The search engine also offers a resource to decode unknown knowledge about the written score by defining unfamiliar terms (foreign or English).  This resource will allow us to use class time to create music as a group more by lessening "teacher talk", encouraging students to develop skills, and to providing alternate resources for students to delve into musical realms.  In choir, students are all at a wide array of different levels, with some students in the same class for a second year.

Common examples of search words for this site include:  name, notation, drills, exercises, rhythm, ear training (using intervals or chords). From there, students could then explore and find their favorite sites.
