Moodle Quiz

In the online course, we gained experience working with Moodle Evaluation tools.  Our assignment included selecting a reading and creating an evaluation tool for others to take.  It allowed us to see the ease of data collection and have practice creating prompts and specific questions.  If a person was going to give quizzes many times and needed a random assortment of questions, I can see Moodle's appeal.  As for me, it took me four hours to write five questions.  I learned the hard way that it is smart to create questions in a Word document, so that formating and wording does not have to be re-created if it gets lost.  I was creating the quiz on my Mac, and as I would enter a question, it wouldn't work, and I would get no feedback.  Finally, frustrated, I went to my PC and entered the information, with the Mac by my side to compare what I was seeing.  The PC highlighted that I needed to enter a value before the question would be accepted.  One small click, and it worked like a charm.  I went to my Mac and created the rest of the questions - and again, by filling in the value, had no problems with the input.

Two thoughts came to mind here: 1) Knowing the program is essential for efficiency and 2) Going to more than one source (or finding a guide who is using your same type of computer) can save time and effort.
