Summer Lessons

While private lessons are always available, most students choose to take lessons during the summer in groups. The studio is transformed into a multi-keyboard classroom with 3 digital pianos, 3 acoustic pianos, and a harpsichord. Students in groups of 3-6 attend classes to study music history, sight reading, composition, technique, improvisation and some repertoire. Whether sharing their original compositions, exploring ways to remember scale and arpeggio fingerings, sight reading, improvising on a blues progression, or singing pop songs while reading “lead sheets,” the atmosphere is one of “friendly competition” and fun, and the focus is on process, not on performance.
