BEN THOMPSON, who was awarded the Boulder Area Music Teachers' Association Outstanding Senior Award for 2016!
Ben was a wonderful addition to my studio from the time he was 9 years old until he graduated from high school in 2016. He participated regularly in studio recitals, didn’t miss a Multiple Piano Festival from 2007 through 2016, earned a total of 11 Federated trophies during the 9 years he studied with me, was chosen in 2016 for both All State Choir AND All-State Jazz Band (where he was the ONLY pianist), accompanied and sang in 4 different choirs during his senior year at Fairview H.S., and played in three different jazz bands along the front range as well as his high school jazz band. He received a full-tuition scholarship to the Univ. of Colorado where he will be majoring in Jazz Piano. Here are a couple of videos recorded during his senior year of high school:
