Pac-Man!?!

Why would a Biology teacher have a thirty-year-old video game attached to his website?

Pac-man eloquently models all the perils of survival for any organism struggling in this harsh and unyielding universe. The protagonist is the ultimate example of the red queen hypothesis where one must work as hard as they can just to keep their homeostasis. He must navigate selective pressures such as an ever changing level-by-level environment while concurrently gathering resources. Generally, he uses the turns to conceal his presence from the ghostly menaces but at certain intervals pac-man becomes better adapted; rather than evading predators he becomes the threat. Naturally, evolution takes the usual course and any ghosts that were "chomped" now become faster and more deadly. Predator and prey are always intermingled in an intimate arms race.
