Narcisa Almada
Longtime resident of East Providence
Narcisa "Nancy" Almada, 90, of Blanding Avenue, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Evergreen House Health Center.
She was the wife of the late Cesar Almada.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Silva) Vieira, she had lived in East Providence for 29 years. Ms. Almada was a member of the Cape Verdean Progressive Center Women's Guild. She was also a communicant of St. Francis XavierChurch in East Providence.
She leaves a daughter, Irene Vieira Almada Penha, of East Providence; four stepdaughters, Maria do Carmo Faial and Arlinda Santiago, both of East Providence; Nair Almada Marques and Ludi Sotto-Mayor, both in Portugal; three stepsons, Orlando Almada of East Providence, Napoleao Almada of New Bedford and Baldwin Almada in Holland; ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Mary "Bebe" Lobo, Theophile Viera and Manuel Vieira.
Her funeral was held Thursday, Dec. 23, at 8:45 a.m. from the Perry-McStay FuneralHome, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. FrancisXavier Church, North Carpenter Street. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
