24-year-old Cape Verdean Jamilson “Já” Semedo has been missing since last Friday in Paris, France. His friends and relatives are desperately looking for word of Já, who was last seen in the area of Juvisy, in Department 91.
Sónia Semedo, Jamilson’s older sister, tells A Semana Online that her brother left his house in one of the neighborhoods of Paris at approximately 9:00 am Friday. At about 9:00 pm, he called another sister on the phone, but she was unable to make out what he was saying, and the call was cut off. Worried, they tired to call Jamilson back, but the call went directly to his voice mail.
They then telephoned their brother’s girlfriend, who said she was unaware of his whereabouts but would look for him. In her search, she heard that someone had fallen into a river near Juvisy, where Já had last been seen, and called police.
Sónia, however, does not believe her brother fell into the river, given that the search has been going on since Friday and there are no signs of him in the waters. “He wears a hat and a coat, if he were really there we would at least have found his hat,” says his older sister.
Jamilson Semedo, the only male of four siblings, has been living in France for the past 14 years and hails from Figueira das Naus on the Island of Santiago. AnotherA Semana Online source explains that Jamilson was not one to get himself into trouble.
Relatives have asked anyone with knowledge about or news of Jamilson Semedo to call 06 85 50 17 06.
