This is a page that contains my 'amateuresque' recipes, even though it's still a bit under construction. Please enjoy! :)
Rice-lentil salad with cheese
You'll need:
half a mug to a saucepan bottom of rice per person (I used brown rice)
half a mug to a saucepan bottom of lentils per person
2 to 4 tbsp of grated cheese of your choice
Preparation steps:
Measure the rice and lentils while boiling water in the (electric) kettle.
Put the rice, lentils and boiling water (in this respective order!) into a pot, and boil them on moderate heat for up to 10 to 20 minutes.
Drain the rice and lentils, and use a large spoon (something in the way of a ladle) to serve it into a bowl.
Alternate the scoops of rice and lentils with spoonfuls of cheese. (Depending on how much you eat, of course.)
Wait for a few seconds, then stir everything a little (with the tablespoon you'll be using, of course), and if you're lucky, the cheese has swiftly melted in between the rice and lentils. Bone apple teeth!
"Binch" lasagna
You'll need:
lasagna sheets of your choice
one packet of vegetarian ground meat per 2 people
one half of a 700gr packet of tomato sauce per 2 people
one box of frozen spinach per 2 people
one zucchini per 2 people
other vegetables of your choice (I usually use carrot and leek) per 2 people (optional)
grated cheese of your choice
any kind of plant-based oil (e.g. olive, sunflower)
Preparation steps:
Pre-heat the oven to 200ºC.
Heat a good layer of oil in a large skillet and fry the fake meat well.
Grate the zucchini until only the stalk is left, and add that to the skillet alongside the spinach (and, if desired, other vegetables).
Add the tomato sauce and let the skillet's contents simmer while still occasionally stirring.
Grease up the oven dish with oil using a sheet of kitchen paper or a special rubber brush.
Turn the stove off, and start with one layer of the 'bolognese' filling.
Cover the layer up with about 6 lasagna sheets, and repeat steps 6 and 7 until the last layer of filling has been put into the oven dish.
Cover the top layer up with a good amount of grated cheese.
Put the full oven dish into the oven for 30 minutes.
After taking it out of the oven (please be careful, it's scorching hot!), let it cool and rest for about 5 minutes before serving it. Bone apple teeth!
Cottage pie, Mars style
You'll need:
300g of any ground meat of your choice (I used vegetarian ground meat)
a saucepan bottom of lentils of your choice (I used red lentils)
a dining bowl of peas and carrots (mine were frozen)
2 cloves of garlic
1 (preferably large) scallion
1 bag of instant mashed potato (approximately 125g)
enough water to give the mashed potato a sturdy, dough-like texture (at least 225ml)
half a box of tomato frito
2 to 3 tablespoons of margarine or anything similar
1 tablespoon of any plant-based oil (I used olive oil)
1 handful of grated cheese of your choice (optional)
The number of ingredients can be multiplied by at least 2 if you’re making this for more people.
Preparation steps:
Boil the lentils in a saucepan for at least 15 minutes.
While the lentils boil, chop the garlic and spring onion, and mix them in the bowl of peas and carrots.
Drain the lentils and mix them along in the bowl of vegetables.
Heat up the margarine in a large skillet.
Once the margarine has fully melted, toss the bowl of vegetables and the ground meat into the skillet and fry them at medium to slightly high heat for at least 20 minutes.
Pre-heat the oven at 200 degrees centigrade.
Boil at least 225ml of water, and add the bag of instant mashed potato into the saucepan you used for the lentils beforehand.
Slowly add the water to the instant mashed potato and gently stir until it has a thick, sturdy, dough-like texture. If it’s still too firm, add some more water if desired.
Prepare an oven dish by greasing it with the tablespoon of oil.
Gently add the mix of ground meat and vegetables into the oven dish, and flatten/spread it with the convex side of the spoon/spatula.
Top it off with the mashed potato, which is also flattened/spread with the convex side of the spoon, and, if desired, add the grated cheese.
Put the oven dish into the oven for at least 15 minutes.
Once the baking process is done, take the dish out of the oven and let it cool for approximately 5 minutes.
Serve your desired number of portions, and bone apple teeth!
