Capstone

When you are ready to begin your capstone project the second year at the Bush School, the writing program director is available to help you at each stage of the writing process. In the early stages, she can help you create a management plan to organize the project, prepare outlines of deliverables that meet the expectations of your client, and create a style sheet to help individual writing contributions sound like "one voice." Mid-way, she can help you draft the document following the guidelines provided by the instructor, the style sheet you have created, and the expectations of the client. In the final stages, she can help you peer review the final deliverables (report, presentation, etc.) according to the different levels of edit: content, organization, design, format, style, and grammar. Thus, while she won't edit your work for you, she will facilitate editing sessions with your group so that you are learning writing and editing skills while preparing your capstone deliverables. The goal: to help you develop collaborative professional writing skills that you can apply in the work you will do after graduation.
