WHERE DO SWIMMERS GO? : Please go directly to the Gym and find team/coach, then get ready to swim.

REFRESHMENTS:  Refreshments will be available throughout the event.

NO FOOD IS ALLOWED IN THE POOL AREA OR GYM. EACH TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPERVISION IN THE GYM.  FOOD CAN BE CONSUMED IN THE HALLWAY.

APPAREL:  A swim gear outfitter will be selling swim apparel and Champs shirts. Only check and cash will be accepted (no credit/debit).

BULLPEN: There will be a bullpen for the morning session only. Afternoon swimmers are responsible for getting themselves up to the blocks. There will be parent volunteers with the swimmers in the field house (gym) to keep an eye on things.

BEHAVIOR OF SWIMMERS: Remember, supervision of swimmers competing at this event is the responsibility of each individual team and is imperative!!! Please assign several parents to supervise your swimmers prevent things from “getting out of hand”. (Please see section on Sportsmanship)

Thank you for your attention in these matters. Have a safe, fast and fun meet. Also, please leave your area clean at the end of each session.

VANDALISM:  Anyone attending the Western Mass Swim League Championships found damaging or destroying property would be ejected from the meet immediately. The person ejected will be responsible for all repair and/or replacement costs for damage.

SPORTSMANSHIP:  A sportsman is defined as, “one who plays fairly and wins or loses gracefully.” We believe that participation in the sport of swimming offers an opportunity to develop skills that can lead to positive lessons, which can be remembered and drawn upon for a lifetime.

But we do not live in an ideal world. So, the Meet Committee will enforce the following policy relating to behavior of an un-sportsmanlike manner.

Any swimmer, parent of a swimmer or other individual who acts in an un-sportsmanlike manner may be ejected from the meet. Harassment of any official or coach while on deck by any individual will not be tolerated.

AWARDS: Medals and ribbons won at Championships will be given at End of Season Celebration (banquet) (DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY COACH AND BOOSTERS).

NOTES TO PARENTS
  • Please ensure that your swimmer arrives in time to get settled and check in with coach prior to the scheduled warm up time.  Swimmers who fail to arrive and check in on time may be at risk of being scratched.
  • Please remember the deck is for swimmers and coaches.
  • Swimmers will remain in bull-pen area designated for Stingrays. Quiet games and activities help to make this time pass quickly between events.
  • The bullpen can get cold for the swimmers, please be sure swimmers have more than 1 towel to get them through the entire session.
  • Though concessions will be available it is always a good idea to pack some of your swimmers preferred snacks.
  • There are several volunteer positions that need to be filled in order for the Championships to be a successful and fun event for your child.
