Have fun improving your swimming skills and learning new strokes with the Belchertown Stingrays.
If you are not sure you are ready to join the Stingrays, come and try it!
Practices run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Fridays with days and times staggered according to age & ability.
Participants are requested to practice 3 days per week to get the most benefit from the program.
General Information
Practices
Practice times start on Tuesday October 15, 2019.
For those attending the following group practice times will be as follows:
Senior Rays: 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Junior Rays: 4:30 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
Mini Rays: 5:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. (be at the pool for 5:00 p.m. to change and do dry lands)
Practice times after November 29th, 2019:
Senior Rays and Junior Plus: Monday-Friday practice will be from 5:15-7:00 there will be a 15 minute dryland session everyday.
Minis: Monday-Friday will swim from 4:30-5:30
Juniors: Monday and Wednesday will have drylands from 4:00-4:30 and will swim from 4:30-5:30. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Juniors will swim from 4:30-5:30
Please also note the following to the practice schedule:
• No practice on: October 31st (Halloween)
•No practice on: November 11th (Veterans Day)
•No practice on: November 28th and 29th (Thanksgiving break)
•No practice on: December 24th, 25th and 26th (Christmas break)
• No practice on: December 31st & January 1st (New Year’s)

Levels
*Mini Rays - For entry level swimmers new to the team. Swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool on your front and one length on your back. Equivalent to Red Cross Level 3. Instruction will focus on learning the fundamentals of the 4 competitive strokes.
Junior Rays- For intermediate level swimmers. This group will focus on developing the 4 competitive strokes and beginning to build endurance. Dryland training will be introduced. (1hr 15 mins.)
Senior Rays- For advanced swimmer. This group will build upon the Junior level and involve more intense a training and stroke proficiency. Daily dryland training will be included. (2hours)
Swimmers may be moved by the Coach during the season to ensure participant is in the appropriate group according to level. If you have questions about which group your swimmer should be placed, please contact coaches Matt Quinney and Jo Manduley at: coachesbsst@gmail.com

Swimmers may go to the pool directly after school during Spring and Fall (before Thanksgiving).
There is Bus Transportation from Cold Spring, Swift River and Jabish. Please check with the Bus Company for current route numbers.
Parents will need to send a note to school if your child will be taking one of the buses.
In the Fall (after Thanksgiving) Stingray practice times will change and swimmers will NOT be able to go directly to the pool after school.
