Broughton's Academy of Hospitality, Tourism, & Sports Marketing is an optional, four-year program designed to help students explore college and career opportunities in some of the fastest growing industries in the country through a combination of real-world learning experiences and courses like Entrepreneurship I (Honors), Sports and Event Marketing I & II (Honors), Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Food and Nutrition I & II (Honors).
Benefits of joining the career academy include fun field trips and engaging guest speakers through partnerships with organizations like the Carolina Hurricanes, NC State University, NCFC and NC Courage, Raleigh Convention Center, Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau, and many more. Students will also participate in workshops designed to help them land (and keep) the job they want and engage in exciting job shadowing and internship opportunities that will be great for resumes and college applications while helping shape future college or career plans. In addition, academy students will be grouped together in some core courses to help connect academic content with the real world and build strong relationships and teamworking skills with peers.
Please explore the curriculum page to find out more about the academy courses, visit the advisory board page to find out about some of the great organizations that have already agreed to work with the career academy, or check out the FAQ page to get answers to some frequently asked questions.
