Chief Cunningham

Hospital Corpsman Chief Cunningham retired from the United States Navy Reserve in 2012 after serving 24 years of Military service. She spent 4 years on active duty as a United States Marine and when becoming interested in the healthcare field, she transferred to the U. S. Navy and became a Hospital Corpsman. Further Navy schooling enabled her to advance to become a Surgical Technologist. She was promoted to the rank of E-7/ Hospital Corpsman Chief in 2009. Chief Cunningham has a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology. She was recalled to active duty twice after 9/11. During her first recall, she served stateside as a Surgical Technologist at the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center. During her second recall to active duty, she was the Medical Department Head at the Naval Mobilization Processing Site in Norfolk, VA. She also did a tour of duty on the USS Mercy; one of two Navy Hospital ships. She has traveled around the world and was stationed on 3 continents while in the military.

Her personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and various unit and campaign awards.
