BCS Fair Booth

September 5th-13th

Each year BCS volunteers run a food booth at the Warren County Fair.  This is a great way to get to know other parents/teacher at Boyd and to spread our joy in the community!  All proceeds go to general operating costs and keeping tuition as low as possible.  We need everyone to volunteer for one shift over the course of the week for the booth to run smoothly.  A sign up book with all the days, shifts, and times is kept in the office, but below is a run-down of the typical duties.  If you, or any of your friends/family can help, please call the office to sign up for a shift or two.  Each day requires 40 volunteers to run smoothly!!  Working the fair counts for service hours for Motlow students needing hours for their promise scholarships.

Prep Room/Kitchen (9:00-2:00, 2:00-6:00, 6:00-Close)

This is the separate building where you slice vegetables, prepare desserts, wash dishes, and keep things ready to stock the food prep station.  May fry bacon and brown beef.  Two adults or 1 adult/1 high school student needed per shift.

Grill (10:00-4:00, 4:00-Close)

Grills hamburgers and hot dogs as orders come in.  Located in main kitchen.  One adult needed per shift.

Deep Fry Cook (10:00-2:00, 2:00-6:00, 6:00-Close)

Mans fryers with French fries and chicken strips.  Helps fill orders as they come in.  Located in main kitchen.  One adult needed per shift.

Fill Orders (10:00-2:00, 2:00-6:00, 6:00-Close)

Fills orders by assembling burgers, making taco salads, etc.  Located in main kitchen.  Two adults needed per shift.

Servers (10:00-2:00, 2:00-6:00, 6:00-Close)

Takes orders, speaks with customers, fill drinks.  At least 2 adults and up to 4 high school students needed per shift.

Cash Box (10:00-4:00, 6:00-Close)

Makes change, watches over money.  One adult needed per shift. May only sign up by calling the office.  

Additional Notes

• Food is served from 10:00 A.M. until approximately 10:00 P.M.  Closing time depends on the night’s activities, business, and supply, but all student workers will be dismissed by 10:00 at the latest.

• Some shifts are longer or start before others.  Please note the times of the job you sign up for.

Grill cooks and cash box workers should call the office to sign up.
