Mrs. Gilley graduated from Boyd Christian School in 2010 and went on to study at Lipscomb University, where she graduated in 2014. She is married to Tyler and has two children, Georgia and Leo. Mrs. Gilley taught at BCS years ago and took a break to stay home with her babies. They are all excited to be at Boyd together! Mrs. Gilley is a member of Westwood Church of Christ, where she serves on the KidMin Team and is also a member of Power of 100 of Warren County. In her free time, she loves to paint and travel. She is so excited for her new role in Pre-K!
Mrs. Sidley currently lives in Manchester, but is originally from Murfreesboro. She and her husband, Joseph, have four children that all attend BCS. She has a Bachelor's Degree from MTSU, and is currently pursuing a certificate in Biblical Theology. She enjoys spending time outside with her children on the farm and is so excited to have a blast in Pre-K!
Mrs. Wilhite attended and graduated from the College of Charleston while her husband was in the Navy. When they returned to Nashville, she attended Peabody College, where she received her Master's Degree. She has taught in the elementary field for 35 years, and is excited to bring her experience and love for children to Boyd Christian. Mrs. Wilhite and her husband share a daughter and a grandson, who is their pride and joy.
Mrs. Bailey is the current first-grade teacher. She resides in McMinnville with her husband, Daniel. Mrs. Bailey is a member of the Mt. Leo Church of Christ. She received her Master’s in Elementary Education from WGU and has been teaching since 2021. In the classroom, Mrs. Bailey aims to create a space where children feel safe, encouraged, and inspired to learn and grow every day. She says teaching at a private Christian school allows her to not only support her students academically but also help them grow in their faith, which is something she deeply values.
Mrs. Reed, her husband, Brian, and their children live in Centertown and attend Ivy Bluff church of Christ, where her husband preaches. In 2003, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching. Mrs. Reed has taught in a variety of classrooms while at Boyd Christian School, including library, high school wellness and electives, and began her elementary career in 2nd grade in 2025.
Mrs. Bryan lives in Coffee County with her husband, David, and two dogs, Big Jack Elle Mae. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan attend Summitville Church of Christ. Mrs. Bryan graduated from MTSU with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Recreation and a certification in Elementary Education. She taught 31 years in the Coffee County School System, and came to Boyd Christian School in 2023, 14 years after retirement. Mrs. Bryan loves teaching young children and instilling good Christian values in her students.
Mrs. Wright lives in the Irving College area on a farm with two of her four sons and her husband. She and her family attends Northcutts Cove Church of Christ. Mrs. Wright was encouraged to pursue a degree in teaching after spending time with the Boyd students through teaching PE, subbing, helping with various school needs, and as a BCS mom! She loves supporting our students through sports and watching them learn and grow in Christ. In her free time, Mrs. Wright enjoys being outdoors on the farm, boating, camping, reading, gardening, sewing, and being with her family.
Mrs. Johnson is a Warren County native and graduate of WCHS. She studied Elementary Education at Motlow State Community College, Tennessee Tech University, and Western Governors University. She started teaching at Boyd Christian in 2019, and has taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. She is married to her best friend, Zac, and they have two children. Mrs. Johnson is an associate member of the Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville, and loves being involved in her community. In her spare time, she enjoys music, traveling, watching baseball, reading, performing on stage with Warren Arts, and spending time with her friends and family. Mrs. Johnson loves being a part of the BCS family and aims to make all of her students feel loved and encouraged.
Mrs. Key began teaching full time at Boyd in 2023 as the middle school math and science teacher. She is no stranger to Boyd, having previously taught several elective courses and started the high school volleyball program, which she coached for seven years. Mrs. Key earned her bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech and is currently pursuing a master's degree from Freed-Hardeman University. She was honored as Boyd's 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Key worships with the Mt. Leo Church of Christ, where her husband, Trent, serves as the minister. They have one son, Charlie, who keeps life fun and full of adventure. She is passsionate about making learning exciting for her students and creating a classroom environment where curiosity thrives. Outside of school, Mrs. Key enjoys traveling, cheering on Alabama football, and speaking at ladies' days and lectureships.
Mrs. Darby lives in Woodbury Tennessee, and attends the Woodbury Church Of Christ with her husband, Curt Darby. Their son, Jeff, lives in Ohio with his wife Sue, and their five children. Their daughter, Laura, lives in Texas with her husband Mac, and their four children. Mrs. Darby graduated from Freed Hardeman University in 1968.
Mr. Milligan has been teaching at Boyd Christian since 2011. He teaches Middle School Bible and High School History. He and his wife, Rebekah, live here in McMinnville. Mr. Milligan is a preacher and always loves the opportunity to present God's word to churches of Christ in the area. His hobbies include traveling, video games, sports, and reading non-fiction (History, current events, and theology). The best thing he enjoys about Boyd is the close knit bond between faculty, students and their families!
Mrs. Akers lives in Cannon County with her husband, Tim, and their two children, Clay and Anagail. They attend Woodbury Church of Christ where they are active in the youth and education programs. She graduated from Lipscomb University in 2005, majoring in Interdisciplinary Education. She began her career at Boyd in 2015 and loves being able to form relationships with the students here. She loves camping, crafting, and playing board games, but nothing compares to being able to teach!
Mrs. Rhoton has been teaching at BCS since 2005 and has taught Personal Finance, Economics, Life Skills, and Psychology. She began teaching high school math in 2018 and currently teachers Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics. She serves as the homeschool, testing, and dual enrollment coordinator, as well as the Senior Beta Sponsor. She enjoys helping students navigate the dual enrollment process and guiding them through the necessary steps to achieve success as they begin college.
Mr. Darby lives in Woodbury, Tennessee and attends the Woodbury Church Of Christ. He is married to Sue Darby, and they have 2 children and 11 grandchildren. He graduated from Harding University in 1970, earning his bachelor’s in biology. He then earned his master’s in Parasitology at Southern Illinois University, graduating in 1972. He began teaching in 2014, and he loves interacting with the kids and creating enthusiasm for nature and science. He is an avid fly fisherman, and he has had 40 years of experience in clinical microbiology!
Mr. Perry and his family live in Viola, Tennessee. He preaches at Morrison Church Of Christ. He graduated from the Memphis School of Preaching in 2002, and then graduated from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga with his bachelor’s in English in 2004. He began teaching at Boyd in 2007, and loves the environment and the opportunity to know so many wonderful kids. He and his family enjoy sports, camping, and travelling.

Mrs. Curtis is a Warren County native. She and her husband, Dustin, are F.C. Boyd Christian alumni. She taught thirteen years for the Warren County Schools System, took a year off, and began teaching at Boyd in 2024. During her free time, Mrs. Curtis enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, and playing the piano. Mrs. Curtis’ family loves Boyd School, including her four children who are students at Boyd.
Mr. Lane grew up in North East Arkansas, and now resides in Summitville Tennessee with his wife, Pam. They attend the Summitville Church Of Christ, where he serves as preacher. They have 2 daughters, and 2 grandchildren. Mr. Lane graduated from the Memphis School of Preaching, and got his bachelor’s at Amridge University. He began teaching in 2008. He loves the opportunity to teach young people that the Bible is relevant to their needs. He enjoys gardening, spending time outdoors, and anything that enables him to spend time with family.
Mrs. Dunlap has been involved with BCS in some capacity for the last 20 years. She began as a volunteer at school events, substitute teacher, lunch lady, cheer coach, Interact sponsor, stats keeper, and guidance counselor. She now teaches high school classes including Art, English 10, Government/Civics, Life Skills/Career Exploration, and Public Speaking/Creative Writing. After working with students of all ages, she has found her place with the teenagers in high school.
Her oldest son, Lucas, and daughter, Olivia, graduated from Boyd Christian High School, and youngest son, Jackson, attended elementary school at BCS for a few years. Olivia now teaches pre-k at Boyd, and her children are students here, too! Their family loves Boyd Christian School and will always work to promote and support the school. In her free time, Mrs. Dunlap enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Mr. Reed lives in Centertown with his wife, Karen, and their children. He graduated from the Memphis School of Preaching in 2003 and preaches at Ivy Bluff church of Christ. He currently teaches PE and coaches elementary boys basketball at BCS.
Mrs. Mayes grew up in Richmond, Virginia, but has lived in Tennessee since attending college at Tennessee Tech University, where she graduated with two Bachelor's Degrees. She lives in Warren County with her husband, Barry, and attends Bybee Branch Church of Christ. They have two daughters. Mrs. Mayes plays the flute and enjoys many kinds of music. She began teaching at Boyd in 2023, and loves the challenge and fun of teaching music and getting to know all the elementary and middle school students. When not at school, she enjoys reading, camping, and watching movies from the early to mid 1900s.
Mrs. Roberts has been married to her husband, Ramie, since 2003. They are proud parents to five sons, with their youngest attending here as a student. Mrs. Roberts has a background in teaching preschool ages and now enjoys sharing her love of art with both elementary and middle school students. She appreciates the creativity and energy that comes from teaching such a wide range of ages and looks forward to inspiring students to explore their talents, think outside the box, and see the beauty of God's creation through art.
Mrs. Newby lives in McMinnville with her husband, Willie. They have three daughters and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Newby graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in 1986 and began working at Boyd in 1988. During her time at Boyd, she taught second grade and coached middle school and high school girls' basketball. In 2019, she was named principal of Boyd Christian School. Mrs. Newby enjoys camping with her family and riding e-bikes. She has been at Boyd for 29 years and is grateful to work in a Christian environment where she can help kids be their best and grow in their understanding of God’s word.
Mrs. Jennifer is the queen of school spirit and the backbone of the front office. She and her husband Scott worship with the Rock Island Church of Christ where they are both very involved in the youth program. Mrs. Jennifer loves cheering on our students at ballgames, giving candy to office visitors, and taking pictures of the kids.
Mrs. Dawn Key, Mrs. Glenda Smartt, and Mrs. Marian Thaxton are the ladies who keep us well fed and happy. From bacon and biscuits each morning to taco salad and chocolate chip cookies at lunch, they take great care of their BCS family and do it all with smiles on their faces!
