Music Lesson Payment
Acton-Boxborough Community Education is responsible for taking payments for private music lessons offered at Blanchard School. Each parent is responsible for contacting Community Ed, or logging into their Community Ed account to register and pay for lessons. Instructors will set up their own schedule and keep their own attendance records. On a monthly basis, the instructors turn their attendance records over to Community Education. Students may not begin lessons until they have registered with Community Ed. Students with a music lesson balance from the previous year must pay the balance before registering for the new term. Instructors have access to see who has registered for lessons and have been asked not to schedule students who are not registered.
Payment can be made by contacting Jen McLean at 978-266-2525 or by going to the Community Ed website and registering with the instructor’s first initial and last name (i.e. CBaird) in the “keyword” box and clicking search. No other fields need be filled in. Once you have found the instructor, click on the instructor’s name under title and register. Information about Garabedian Scholarships can be found here. The cost of lessons is $36 per half hour lesson. Families will pay for a total of 28 lessons, 14 in the fall and 14 in the winter/spring term. Since the actual number of lessons a student will receive varies by instructor and day of the week, we will audit each student's attendance at the end of the school year and offer a credit to families whose children received less than 28 and will send a note to families who have a balance due for lessons greater than 28. You will only be expected to pay for lessons received and unexcused absences.
Attendance Policy:
Students are expected to arrive to lessons on time. If your child is ill or traveling, please let the instructor know as early as possible so they aren’t sitting waiting for your child to arrive. Instructors do not have access to school absences. If they do not receive notice by 10:00 a.m. on the lesson day, it will be considered an unexcused absence and instructors are entitled to be paid for that time.
If schools are closed or early release is planned due to inclement weather, there will be no lessons that day.
