Letter from Mrs. Anaya

Dearest Students and Parents of the Citrus Valley High School Choral Music Program,

WELCOME! I am genuinely thrilled that you’ve chosen to be a part of the vocal music program here at Citrus Valley High School. We’re going to have an amazing year of growth - musically, socially, and personally. You have chosen to become a part of a fine tradition of Vocal Excellence. I am extremely happy to be starting my 10th year at CVHS and look forward the fun this year will bring. There is a definite abundance of talent here CVHS.

I believe that participation in a choir offers a unique and wonderful experience. Discipline is combined with art, laughter meshes with work, and challenge dances with fulfillment. There are very few places where we can work toward a common goal with a group this large and truly enjoy the process. I look forward to seeing how we will all be changed and our talents enhanced by June.

Attitude counts for more than ANYTHING in my choir. Talent is great, but accomplishes little if it is not accompanied by an attitude that welcomes challenge, rejoices in others’ successes, hurts with others’ pain, and seeks to bring enjoyment to many through our music. If we are passionate and celebratory in what we are doing, that joy can only spread to other students and our audiences. Let’s decide NOW that this will be a year of accomplishment.

Please check the website for updates. Most importantly though, make sure your singer has access to google classroom and can check and navigate that platform well. I use it A LOT! I am thankful for the privilege of having you as a part of the program this year.
