Pianist Pana Yontararak, a recipient of the prestigious Luigi Castellini award for outstanding artistry in Perugia, brings the rigor of his Italian training to this performance while pursuing a doctoral degree at Chulalongkorn University. He will present a Lecture-recital on Nat Yontararak's Piano Sonata No 2 from music for the Thai Ranad Ek which adapts the virtuosic "interlocking" techniques of the Ranad Ek (Thai wooden xylophone) into Western pianistic idioms.
