The Italian Festival in Thailand presents Italian guitarist Carlo Fierens, who won in 2013 the “Italian National Prize for the Arts”, a prize awarded by the Ministry of Education to the best music student of the year, among all conservatories and schools of music. He also took part in many guitar festivals in Europe (Italy, Spain, Austria and Germany) where he had the possibility to visit master-classes and have lessons with famous guitarists.

The 14th Annual Thailand International Composition Festival presents pianist BENNETT LERNER in “LADYBIRD SONGS”, a program of contemporary piano music by past and present TICF women composers. The program: Asha Srinivasan: Mercurial Reverie; Kit Young: Burmese Mists (premiere); Ingrid Stölzel: In The Midst; Chen Yi: Ji-Dong-Nuo; Augusta Read Thomas: Love Twitters; Tania León: Tumbáo. In the same concert, Mr. Lerner will be joined by pianists Remi Namtep and Gun Chaikittiwatana in a performance of “Fakebook”, Suite 1, by Arthur Gottschalk. The three movements of the suite are named after and pay homage to three great jazz pianists: Erroll Garner, Thelonious Monk, and George Shearing.
