Structure of the lab-report
1. The experiment title (5% off if missing)
2. Introduction to the experiment (10% off if missing)
· one concise paragraph stating the goal of the experiment, the underlying theory that will be examined.
3. Procedure (5% off if missing)
· maximum a length of one-half page
· use past tense and passive form („...the concentration of the solution was...”)
· describe only major experimental steps not preparation steps
· insert important equation; explain brief the parameter in the equation
4. Data and calculation (20% off if missing)
· Neat tables with recorded data
· The columns and rows of table should be clearly labeled
· Use the international standards units
· Label the tables, graphs or figures
· Neat and clear order of calculation with the formula for each type of calculation
· Each average quantity requires a standard deviation and an error calculation
5. Results and discussion (40% off if missing)
· Brief summary of results with standard deviation and errors
· Answer the questions asked in the experiment
6. Conclusions (10% off if missing)
· Concluding comments about the goal of the experiment, results.
additionally 10% (final: 90% + 10% = 100%)
- font: Arial 11, typed on PC (the best way...)
- the length of the lab-report: two A4 pages (not less, not more)
- lab-reports should be submitted in due time
- please, write your name and your group on the lab report
