Grading:

At the end of the Biophysics practical sessions and seminars the students will obtain two grades (representing 20% of the final grade):

1. activity during the practical sessions and seminars (10% of the final grade)

2. practical exam (eliminator) - in the last week of the semester (10% of the final grade)

The grading system: In Romania the following grading system is used: the highest grade is ‘10’. It stands for ‘excellent’. The smallest grade is ‘1’; the grade ‘5’ means ‘pass’, and ‘4’ or less than ‘4’ means failed. Exams graded ‘4’ or less than ‘4’ must be repeated.

Group leader:

Each group will have a group leader (student responsible for the group) – he/she will make the connection between the instructor and the group (phone number, email, list with phone numbers and emails from the colleagues).

Participation:

During the class are encouraged active listening, assimilating the scientific material, asking questions that clarify the topics discussed and making comments. The students should study the topic in advance of the class. The participation is included in the grade for the activity during the practical sessions and seminars.

You should present your own results in the end of the practical session. If you are presenting the work of one of your colleagues as your own work is considered plagiarism.

Copying during the exam is considered a serious offense.

Plagiarism and copying during the exam are forms of academic dishonesty and results in serious penalties: failing grade for the work in question or other disciplinary actions, including loss of the student status.
