"The Glory of the Lord

34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 36 Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out. 37 But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up. 38 For the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys." Potential Discussion Questions:-

  • What is the glory of The Lord? What does it look like in today's time? Where is it found?
    • I believe "glory of God" is any entity which exalts God and / or makes His attributes more perceivable.
    • "Glory of God" can be found anywhere and anytime as God wills. God's creation has typically being a carrier of God's glory - Psalm 19:1-3: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his Hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them."
    • I believe in Jesus is manifested fullness of God's glory (i.e., Hebrews 1:3, John 14:19, Colossians 1:15, 19).
    • Today, the Church is the Body of Jesus on earth. So, it is expected that the fullness of God's glory will be manifested in the Church, by the working of the Holy Spirit (i.e., Acts 4:31). For instance fruits of Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) in Church members is God's glory. God's glory is seen in one's life, when one is made alive in Christ (i.e., Ephesians 2:1-7).
  • In your life, what are all that correspond to glory of the world and what are all that correspond to glory of the Lord?
    • Alternatively, (1) In what ways are you glorifying God, (2) In what ways are you NOT glorifying God, and (3) In what ways can you glorify God?

This is a very important question, as Isaiah 43:7 says, God created us for His glory!

I believe any entity in our lives that is towards fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20, The mission of the Church in these last days), corresponds to God's glory. And, any entity that hinders or can hinder with fulfilling of the Great Commission corresponds to the glory of the world.

Closing Remarks

One can say that during the human history, God was glorified the most when His Son died at the cross, so that humans may have eternal life, instead of being doomed to Hell (i..e, John 3:16).
