BHS's annual Math information night is this Thursday (see below for the detailed announcement)

Hello BHS Families,

Would you like to know more about Math at Berkeley High School?

Come to BHS Math Information and Resource Night for Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3 (and Advanced Math levels).

Parents and guardians, please come to find out more about math education at Berkeley High School. Here’s an opportunity to learn from our math department leads and teachers about how math instruction is approached in the classroom. It’s also a chance to learn about resources like the Math website, which offers instructional support and a video for every math module in the curriculum!

What: BHS Math Information and Resource Night

Date: Thursday, September 19th

Time: 7:00pm to 8:30pm

*Light refreshments will be provided starting at 6:45am

Where: BHS Library (Main Office Building - 2nd Floor)

Topics will include:

How our math teachers use the common core standards to approach teaching in their classrooms

How you and your child can use the online support instruction and videos, created by a BHS math teachers for our students, for each math module

Research-based tips on how your attitudes about math can help your child

Insights into how math learning happens in your child's classroom

Information on free tutoring options for BHS math students

Thoughts from a UC Berkeley mathematician and BHS parent on the big picture of math beyond high school

Overview of the math course progression at BHS

How can the community help support teachers?

***Math Night will include the same presentation and content as last year's events. We welcome all families, including previous attendees, but especially encourage new-to-BHS families and families of 9th graders as an introduction to math at BHS.

***If you are unable to attend Math Night, we will post materials on the BHS website after the event.

***Teachers and Administrators will be available to answer general questions about math at BHS. However, if you have specific questions and/or concerns about your student or student's teacher, or about the math program at BHS, please contact the teacher or administrators directly.
