June, 2014 from Urban Forest Website:
The city of Statesboro is currently looking for a Tree Inventory/Work Order Program and are interested in finding out what other communities in Georgia (or elsewhere) are using. If you'd like to share information with them, contact robert.seamans@statesboroga.gov.
Dahlonega is designated a Tree City by the Arbor Association. We need to live up to the designation and protect our trees.
In addition to enforcment of its Tree Ordinance and an improvement upon that ordinance...
Dahlonega needs its very own Trees Dahlonega Volunteer Organization, to plant, and mulch trees, like Trees Atlanta.
http://treesatlanta.org/who-we-are/
That is why starting this year, 2014, we want to start ordering and distributing 2500 hard wood tree seedlings to residents and groups in Lumpkin, Dawson, and Forsyth County, to plant.
Keep Lumpkin Beautiful...
Dahlonega is proud of its Historic Buildings Preservation.
Let's be proud of our historic trees. Let's not whack them to make an addition on a historic building, or whack them, in Hancock park, when they had the ice rink, or cut down 100 year old trees, as the big church did, behind the square, to make a parking lot. On the campus let us not remove 100 year old Pecan Trees just to move a house, as they did.
