STEM CELL TRANSPLANT SYMBOLISM

MY STEM CELL SYMBOLISM

The Full Moon Total Eclipse of the 21st of March 2008, Symbolizes my Stem Cell Transplant on March 14, 2002. The full moon, prior to the eclipse, represents the healthy body. As the eclipse begins, leukaemia begins to invade the body and health declines. At total eclipse, chemo has killed your bone marrow during the conditioning to kill the cancer. Donor stem cells are instilled during this darkest period of the total eclipse. You dream about the donor stem cells flooding into, and attaching to the bone marrow, like bats returning to their caves. You wait. Then a sliver of light appears on the darkened moon as the donor stem cells take hold. As the eclipse progresses, your blood counts rise and you become healthier and are recovering. When the moon emerges fully from behind the shadow, you have recovered and have a new life to celebrate.
