Gallery Poster Tour Research Session

The 'University Day-Student Symposium' Event has been combined with the 'Presentation Day' evnt to represent a, 'Gallery Poster Tour Session. Students will present their research or projects of scholarly information with a large Poster of computer slide to showcase their work.

 

The Posters will hang on the wall or students may choose to use a flash drive connected to a LCD Projector for a Power-point to showcase research. Both presentations will occur with sharing time for 30 minutes in the AM and PM, Symposium schedule. 

                                                      Gallery Poster Tour Session Event


To: Coordinators, Directors & Professors of Student 'Study Abroad' Programming:


#1. The 'Presentation Day' Symposium event has been designed to include a, 'Gallery Poster Tour' Session for primarily university students. The 'Gallery of Poster Tour' has become an integral and meaningful experience to many university professors and students. Topics of the 'Posters on Display' will showcase research from Student's current research projects or the main topic of the Symposium discussion.


#2. Students may bring displays and materials to add additional artifacts gained thru student learning as materials are located in Belize to complete displays. In addition, other information presented on the display may include: (e.g. brochures, collage materials, photos of interactions, pictures, newspaper clippings, books on display, found or purchased items, poetry or journal entries, etc.).


#3. In the past, Directors of Study Abroad Programs & Professors typically engage student learning before leaving for Belize, as on-site meetings are scheduled in Belize for student interactions, sharing and designing of posters to be displayed at the 'Gallery Poster Tour' session event.

 

*Additional Student Assignments may include: (e.g. Interviews, Journals, Poetry, Research Papers, Newspaper Articles, Partner Sharing, Short Papers, Literacy & Math Activities, Games, Short Quizzes, etc.).

Items to bring for: 'Gallery Poster Tour' Session:

1. Recommended: Card Board, White Foam Board, White Poster Board or other types of Poster Displays are acceptable.

2. White Poster Board w/research information applied

3. White Foam Board Display  w/poster information applied

4. Tape (e.g. Duct tape & masking tape) will help to attach board display together

5. Markers, Marking pens, glue sticks, scissors

6. Artifacts, Brochures and Collage materials to attach 

7. Poster Letter Stencils & Construction paper

8. Tables for Displays will be provided at the event

9. Small wooden or metal easels may provide a means for the display

10: Jump-drive or memory stick projected using computer laptop & LCD projector (Students MUST bring their OWN COMPUTER LAPTOPS & LCD PROJECTORS to Belize!).
