Teacher Librarian as a Resource

1. Library Program Goals:

-Support the needs of teachers

-Support the curriculum through technology and print resources

-Enable students to be independent learners who are skilled users of information

-Plan and co-teach information literacy skills with classroom teachers

-Promote literacy and lifelong learning

-Enhance learning through technology use by working with teachers and students

-"The need to conduct research and to produce and consume media is embedded into every aspect of today's curriculum. In like fashion, research and media skills are embedded throughout the Standards rather than treated in a separate section" (p. 4, Iowa Core English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects).

Locating Resources
