Summer Reading Challenge

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?!

Challenge Details

1. Set a reading goal for yourself by deciding how many books you will read over the summer. 

2. Post your goal on the shared Google Form: https://bit.ly/3owqmPj

3. READ! You can use our suggested list online or find your own. 

4. As you finish each book, submit the title, author, and your thoughts about the book via the Google Form. 

5. Everyone who reaches their goal will be entered in our prize drawing. Plus, each time you post about a new book, you will also be entered. 

6. Public Library Incentive: Earn an extra entry by checking books out at any local public library. (Maximum # of entries is 6)

Reading research indicates that the reading ability of many children declines between the end of one school year and the beginning of the next because they do not read over the summer. You can counteract this summer reading slump by reading as few as four or five books over the summer, according to researcher Jimmy Kim" (Donalyn Miller, Booksource Banter).
