This page is about our family photo fun challenge that we set ourselves every week during our video call. Called into play when Lockdown started and family gatherings were frowned upon (they still are) we decided to help keep our spirits up we'd set a subject each week to be photographed during the coming week and then once uploaded to Dropbox we could have a quick chat about them on the video call.
I supplied a long list of subjects to my daughter based on various camera club ideas over the years and some judicious Googling and off we went. Hopefully each photo is taken during the week but they don't have to be, and it's not a competition, no winners just good to see other people's thoughts and ideas on the same subject. Each week we pull another number from the bag of numbers and off we go again.
Below is a quick selection of some of my entries on various topics.
So we're on week 60 now at the middle of August 2021 and having exhausted our extensive topics list have moved onto "I Spy with My Little Eye" type entries, each week using a random letter spinner to generate the next letter. Even then we are fast approaching half way through the alphabet! Didn't quite envisage needing to do this kind of thing for as long as we have although it helps to keep my photography going.
Even my 'bro submitted a few entries whilst him & his famalam were on holiday! See we are all keen photographers 📸
Last year's entries provided my brother with a collection of photos just crying out to be made into calendars, which is what he did for me anyway as a Christmas pressie. So I have spent this year in the home office looking at some of my entries over the last twelve months ;-)
So finally the photo challenge ran out of steam in August 2022 having dropped down to a monthly timeframe. It was good while it lasted and kept us focused during a difficult two years of Covid-19 Pandemic.
One of my favourite images shot for the From Where I Stand category. I'd remained seated on the decking snapping away at various things which caught my eye.
This was the last challenge subject and an interesting one to execute.
