Jaya

Jaya Shashidhar began her teaching journey in Chennai, India, and later taught Hindu heritage classes in the U.S. She founded and sustained the Tyagaraja Music Festival in Upstate New York for over 15 years, preserving the Carnatic music tradition in a small diaspora community.

Currently based in Texas, she teaches beginner-level Samskrutham at Sree Bharati Tirtha Vidyalaya, Sharada temple, SVBF Houston, TX. She has completed the Prathamaa and Dvitiiyaa levels with Surasaraswathi Sabha, Karnataka, India, and is pursuing Trutiiyaa, while continuing her Vedanta studies virtually under Swami Sadatmananda Saraswathi Ji, Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Annaikatti Ashram, Coimbatore, India. 

She also brings over two decades of professional experience in Fortune 500 companies in the U.S. with an MBA and PMP certification, adding structure and clarity to her teaching approach.
