My Favorite Websites

Free design tool; works with many other apps to create and share fantastic presentations and creations; requires email to sign up; pro version available

A website with reviews, articles, and tips for all sorts of media; great for teachers and parents 

Use this web 2.0 tool to turn PDFs into "flip"able eBooks. Students can create their books using word processing software like Microsoft Office, then save the documents as PDFs. The PDFs can then be uploaded to FlipSnack and converted into an eBook. Super easy to use! 

Free resources and lesson plans for teaching with technology; written and maintained by Richard Byrne 

Just type in a message and it brings up arial pictures of the letters you type. You can then save and share the link to your message with others. The link loads one letter at a time showing with a marker where the picture comes from. 

A free QR code generator

Allows you to capture your screen, record your front-facing camera, and narrate it all at once. Your video is automatically copied to your clipboard and ready to share as a link or an embeddable video. Public URL available for sharing. Password protect videos.  Free for educators.

An educational social networking site for classrooms; only students registered to an Edmodo class can see the posts for that class; parents can sign up to see only the posts from the teacher and the posts of their child 

Check out this cool website for teachers and students that let's you find videos, websites, and even photographs for school projects.  All of the videos have been reviewed by educators to make sure that the content is appropriate. 

Even though this site promotes itself for preschoolers, Kindergarten through second graders love this site, too! Check out the the games link for some fun Science games. And the music and videos link will get your kids excited about Science. There are even some great activities to do with your kids. 

Save or "pin" a picture from a website or blog with a description of that website or blog.  Great visual reminder of what you've read and a great way to keep track of ideas.

Turn any document into a PDF with this free download;  Just choose PrimoPDF as your printer and your documents will be made into a PDF that you can then save in that format 

A QR code generator that lets you colorize your QR code.  There are also tons of options as to what you can connect your QR code to. 

A website to practice spelling words...type in your own list and it will give you a choice to take a spelling or vocabulary test or even play a game with your spelling words

A website from TV Ontario, similar to PBS, that has lots of fun activities and games 

A free website that teachers or parents can sign up for that allows students to practice math fluency facts
