Publishing your research

On November 13 and 14, Mary Ann Scott and Judith Rosenbaum discussed some of the techniques and tools writers can use to better organize their thoughts, literature, and their publications. You can find the powerpoint used in the workshop below.

In addition to going over some of the more old-school techniques to help organize the writing process, Mrs. Scott gave brief tutorial of various software applications. Some of these were geared towards the organization of literature, such as Zotero and Livebinders. Scapple helps an author organize their thoughts through concept mapping, while Scrivener aids in the writing process itself. You can find similar tutorials by clicking on the name of the application you are interested in. Moreover, do note that Zotero and Livebinders are free applications, and Scapple and Scrivener only charge a small one-time fee.
