US health in international perspective: Shorter lives, poorer health

This report by the institute of medicine compares the average health in the US to the average health as reported in other countries. It finds that the US, in spite of the amount of money spent on health care, is far from being the healthiest country in the world. In addition to discussing this finding in detail, this report examines potential reasons for health disadvantage.
