Mixed results for computer-based support for diabetes patients

Are you considering studying the impact that any form of computer-based support can have on people suffering from a condition or disease? Be sure to check out this study, sponsored by the NIH. It found that, in spite of expectations, providing diabetes patients with tailored advice and support through computer and mobile phone apps does not lead to an improvement in their health or their quality of life. Face-to-face education still appears to be the most effective, but also the most expensive option.
