Multiple Me is a digital project requiring the use of a computer, Photoshop, and a camera.
This project is extremely easy for those who have good work ethic and know how to manipulate Photoshop to their advantage.
(If you don't know how to use Photoshop but know how to use a different photo editing program, use the one you know best. Or, Google is your best friend. Always.)
This seriously isn't a last minute project; it may be doable, but the stress would be overbearing.
It took me at least two hours on each photo (I used Photoshop CS2 [unless otherwise stated] and a Bamboo Tablet [the love of my life when it comes to Photoshop]. I plan on redoing all of them. ('cause, ya' know, Photoshop is fun and the more I use it, the better I get at it.)
"In the Moment"
The first one came out all blurry. :/ This is due to the camera moving at some point, or there was something wrong with the camera. Probably the former.
"...Dinner Party?"
*When I finished editing this one in CS2 it came out really dark so I went into Elements 7.0-8.0 to lighten it up.
This one is my favorite. :]
"Crowded Stairwell"
I cropped this one; not entirely sure it was the "right" move, but I thought it looked better this way. Because the camera moved very slightly for each one, I had to pick one spot (a picture chain that I cropped out) and align each layer to make it look right. This caused the edges to be all wacky, so the cropping tool was a huge help in touch up.
"....Teaching?"
Compared to the others, I really don't like this one. I plan on even redoing the photo shoot. Reason being is I don't like the placement. I could have moved the Kneeling Me to the right in Photoshop, but it wouldn't have looked right.
"The Last Sup"
"When in doubt, go Shakespeare! Use sup if you don't know if it's drank or drunk." was my sister's response to a dire question. This is a semi-parody of The Last Supper. Kind of. Except there's no food, only drinks. So, it's a "Sup" nor a "Supper."
....Wait what...?
Anyway, I purposely changed the opacity of one layer to make myself look like a ghost. Neat, huh? :]
I also cropped the edges to fit the "Last Supper" theme.
So, an over-review:
I took each picture,
placed them on different layers in a new file,
and adjusted them to be aligned correctly.
After that, I went one by one and erased the area on a layer that blocked a previous layer.
(Like, in "The Last Sup" the Ghost Me is on a layer under Thing 1, but on top of the arm reaching over. I had to erase part of the Ghost me that went over top the arm to allow visibility to the arm.)
After editing, I saved the file as a JPEG.
And that's it. Complicatedly simple enough. :]
