Aloha!
My name is Ashley and I am in love with acting and film producing. I would ideally like to be both an actress and a director/post production manager. I have no idea where I'll be attending college, but I will DEFINITELY major in Film Production (or alternatively Film Studies) and (hopefully) minor in Theater.
Alas, the journey for this website has ended and now serves as a portfolio of my Basic Photography (a.k.a. Photo I, Basic Communications, etc.) creations.
<--- Take a look! :]
My favorite digital project is a tie between Multiple Me, Out of this Frame, and Color Me Black and White.
I also fancy the Photogram, Speed Shoot, and Second Photo Shoot film assignments.
My long, stress-filled, yet-so-amazingly-worth-while adventure is contained in the pictures and words of this website.
For what one cannot tell from mere pixels, I am a teenager who has found a passion in acting, photography, writing, film post-production, and creative film.
(Although I'm pretty sure someone can figure some of those out by reading what was stated at the top of this page.)
I learned A LOT of useful tools in Photography class this year. I was able to expand my knowledge in using Photoshop, how to use a dark room and its chemicals and equipment properly, and most importantly I was able to discover an an activity I was good at, but could improve. I was also able to solidify a field of work I envision myself working in.
Here's an old decscription, perhaps it can tell you more about myself:
Once upon a time, I was born.
....Well, that escalated quickly.
Salutations. My name is Ashley; I plan on attending college and getting a degree in the field of visual/performing arts.
In addition to Photography, Dramatic Arts and a touch of literature are included as my interests.
I have to say the only reason why I took Basic Photography this year was because of my sister. She took the class as a Freshman and really found a place of her own. As the year goes on, I find myself having a similar reaction.
There is a lot more to Photography than taking pictures. I look forward to Photography 2 and 3 in the coming years.
The inspiration for my work comes from scarring memories and an optimistic state-of-mind needing release from first-world problems in an enthusiastic way. Haunting song lyrics or specific lines from movies/plays/T.V. shows/books/etc. also find their way into my collection of amateur labor.
I try not to look at situations and judge them by their surface. I make attempts to see past the shell. Please do not simply gaze at my creations; listen to what they say, for they have meaning.
They have meaning, therefore they have a story.
Don't take my fabrications too seriously. Feel for the figurative energies.
