In the beginning of this project I would spend an indefinite amount of time trying to figure out how to get the pictures to actually look neat and orderly. I would ultimately become frustrated and move on to other endeavors, such as poetry or creating plot for blah-blah-blah.
Enough story telling.
Messy Match Up is (in my opinion) a frustrating mind-game of a digital project. It took me F.O.R.E.V.E.R. to figure this project out.
How I did this project:
1. Take different angled photos with a camera of a specific scene (with 5 different places, at least eight photos)
2. Open the images up into PhotoShop
3. Open a far larger file than the originals
4. Copy and paste the images into the blank file
5. Arrange them in the order they are suppose to be in
6. Re-size all of the layers to a very small image
7. Crop out the excess part of the image
8. Save as a .jpeg
First Experiment
("I warned you about stairs bro!!!!!")
A word for this one: this was the first time I was experimenting with this project. No matter how I would arrange the photos, nothing aligned correctly. I eventually gave up on this picture, exasperated. I figured this picture couldn't look any better, considering my other options during editing. I lost this battle, but I won the war in the end.
Second Experiment
Third Experiment
Fourth Experiment
Fifth Experiment
Compare to my others, I think this one is my best. I spent the most time on it. I think it came out so well because I had more to work with (30+ photos, I could flick through and choose which ones were best fit. Lesson learned.)
Ohhey! This project can be added to the list of stresses I've overcome in Photography class this year! (I mean, honestly, some kids just blow off assignments when they can't figure something out. I actually [eventually] got this project done.) (which may or may not have been the right way to complete the project.)
Hardy-Harr-Harr.
