Signature Works

My Signature works are one-off originals part of existing collections. Each piece has a different palette or size and is different from the next. I frequently paint these to commission, customising both size and colour. View currently available works in SHOP or Contact me for orders.

Pohutukawa

This beautiful native New Zealand flower epitomises Summer and a time for family as it only blooms at Christmas time. This collection symbolises warmth, family, and a time for joy and coming together. The touches of gold and pearl scattered throughout cementing the feeling of enrichment. The flowers when in bloom are constantly dropping and make a mess of red petals everywhere. Families can be messy too. ‘Beautiful Messes’ are sometimes the way of our lives, we embrace them and find a way to navigate. Be strong and true to yourself always. This painting has been designed so it can be hung either portrait or landscape.

Proteas

This painting represents Inclusion, Diversity and Strength. The flowers are large and heavy, daring to bloom to their fullest and hold themselves up on their single stalks, like women they are supporting each other, together stronger, creating a balance and unified strength. Each flower is the same yet different and unique in its own way celebrating its difference. The colours in the piece are soft and feminine, yet with a depth and subtle boldness. The pearl base alludes to the hidden depths shimmering beneath the surface within every woman. The texture and layers in the background of the piece are depicting the strength and energy we exude and also surround ourselves with in order to succeed, and to be seen and heard.

LOVE UAE

This  collection is entitled ‘Love UAE’. It is representing the UAE’s Native Flora and fauna and is filled with hidden meaning. Firstly there are underlying sweeps and lines. These depict the dominant, tough spiny Cornulaca Monacantha, a dominant prolific plant found in the local desert. This therefore represents strength and endurance. The big date palm leaves represent sustenance. The pink and gold flowers are representing the desert Hyacinth which only blooms after heavy rain and has numerous health benefits therefore depicts prosperity. The little flowers with hints of yellow are in fact depicting the National flower Arfaj therefore symbolising unity and togetherness. The entire base of the pieces are painted with Pearl lending to the idea of an inner resonance. The works are created in such a way that they can be hung either portrait or landscape telling the story that life here is ever changing and we need to be always ready to adapt and change with it.

CAMELS

This collection represents endurance.

There are times when we need to be strong and steady and resilient, putting one foot in front of the other. Sometimes the burdens are heavy, sometimes they are light and sometimes it’s just for fun.

Stay the distance and be committed to the path.

LANDSCAPE CAMELS

Flower Garden Pearl

My flower garden collection represents change and new beginnings and how we need to see things simply sometimes in order to embrace change. To keep a child like view at times to keep things simple. The flowers are not always obvious. Their simplicity plays to the concept of simplistic vision. The pearl base gives a subtle shimmer, and the heavy textures catch the light beautifully. It is an abstract work which evolves and changes as the day changes.

Flower Garden Bold

My flower garden collection represents change and new beginnings and how we need to see things simply sometimes in order to embrace change. To keep a child like view at times to keep things simple. The flowers are bold and standing clear on the canvas lending to the concept of inner strength. Their simplicity plays to the concept of simplistic vision. The heavy textures catch the light beautifully. It is an abstract work which evolves and changes as the day changes.

This collection represents ‘Abandonment’ .......... the need to let go and be free, to just be...... releasing control over the rigidity in our lives..... even if just for a moment in order to find ourselves again.

This collection represents timeless elegance. Sometimes life is crappy and throws us challenges. Through it all stand tall. Be elegant. Be beautiful. Be the best part of yourself you can be. Find your strength and make it look easy. Fake it till you make it!

Horses

This collection represents strength and integrity. The need to always put your best foot forward. Be prepared and willing to carry others along on your journey. These times will be the moments that give your life meaning. This painting has been created to catch the light with heavy texture. As the day changes so does the painting. It is an abstract work of art which evolves.

FLAMENCO Collection

This collection is about the 'Celebration of Release'. The feeling of woman expressing herself through dance. She is lost in the painting as she is lost in the dance. We all want to feel the freedom and release that is found in the movement of dance. I am trying to paint this feeling.

BALLOONS Over Dubai

This painting represents resilience and facing your boundaries. The mental endurance and ability to Rise above and beyond the trivial things in life that hold us down. Know when to take time out. Be strong. Be bold. Be passionate. Be proud of your achievements. This painting has been created to catch the light with heavy texture. As the day changes so does the painting. SIGNATURE GRAND MOSQUE COLLECTION

My Mosques represent Harmony. The story behind my Grand Mosque collection....When we first moved to Dubai I had to learn to drive on the other side of the road amongst city chaos with my young daughter in the back seat. Every day I would take her to school on one of Dubai’s busiest roads. There was a Mosque, partially obscured by trees. The Mosque signified my exit. It would pop out at me from behind the trees. Every time I saw it I had such an overwhelming reaction of relief and appreciation for its beauty. So I wanted to paint that feeling..... showing the movement and energy of life all around and through it all you can always find something to focus on... sometimes it is obvious, sometimes not. But it’s always there if you look. And so was born my Grand Mosque collection with the texture and its ability to change with the light.... sometimes standing clear on the canvas and sometimes not.

Burj Khalifa Scape Series

on show exclusively in the boutique of the 148th Sky Lounge... the worlds tallest viewing platform.

Burj Khalifa x 2

After a 10 year hiatus this first piece was the first painting I created while my good friend Bec watched. The second was created after attending a painting retreat in France where I woke up all the creativity itching to get out!

BALLERINA COLLECTION

She is lost in the canvas the way she is lost in the dance. Her body is caught in the movement and her mind is far away as she loses herself in the dance. Its like she is extending off the canvas and her body is reaching higher, higher.

Abstract Portraits

Lady with a Hat

Summer heat.... Mimmosas..... Holiday vibes..... A day in the sun without a care in the world feeling gorgeous, relaxed and free.

The Song

The Song is an expression of pure emotion. It depicts that moment in time when you are completely lost to the joy and emotion of letting go, singing your heart out and completely lost in the rapture of the moment.

Hilltop Village & Mosque in Oil

Where I discovered my love for impasto work.

Mixed media Abstract Sill life

This collection was created at a time when I was exploring the use of mixed media.

Abstract My Dubai City

The first 3 pieces of this collection were created at a time when I was experimenting with Lyra water colour pastels. New to Dubai and in awe of the culture and colourful life all around.  The 2nd 2 works are an abstract perspective of the city. Portraying the busy life here and how it all ends up on top of each other. Sometimes its hard to see where one objective ends and a new one begins. The 3rd was a fun play with acrylics on a small canvas.

Abstract Landscapes in Watercolour and Acrylic

Pearl Orchid

The painting is soft, floaty and pure.

Purely Abstract on Canvas

Allowing the paint to flow to shifting moods and energy to dictate how the painting evolves.
