Dubai Scapes
Recently I was lucky enough to have a commission from an old collection to work on. There was a sense of peace and calm and I felt like I was spending time with an old friend. I think I’m going to bring back the Dubai Scape! This is the collection from which the Burj Khalifa asked me to create a special collection of Burj paintings for the 148th. I was the only artist invited at the time. I was honoured.
This collection represents many things. The old gnarled olive trees are a symbol of peace, wisdom, knowledge, prosperity, abundance and nourishment, community and a willingness to trust in the process of life, and also a literal depiction of those who have lived full lives that we turn to for guidance and direction. They are twisted and weathered yet solid and strong.
I am an abstract artist. My paintings are very textured, they are designed to catch the light and evolve. As the day changes so do the paintings. Abstract works that evolve.
My works are a play on the concept of abstraction. My technique is called impasto.
I have three collections, Signature and Market and Bespoke.
The Signature works are originals for exhibition. The Market works are affordable pieces which I recreate .... all original too but there's another piece very similar.
