Need help with an A5 Timeline?

All year long, be looking for judges for your event. As your shop, hold meetings, or just out walking, strike up a conversation about DECA and how it would help your students if they took 5 hours out of their schedule to be a judge at the A5 Conference.

By November 30th: Have your judges called and reserved for the Area Conference in January.

 After Winter Break:

Create your event packets for your judges, Performance Indicators and Roleplays for the prep table, and enough scoresheets for the students in your event.

Gather your supplies and put them in a box that you can bring to the conference.

Set up your roleplays. Large format or Small format. a video about how to setup your roleplay sheets.

Email your judges packets to your judges.

What to bring to the conference. The Second most important thing to bring is a LAPTOP! The first being your students!

During the conference: Run your event and score the students on your laptop.

Remember:

#1 Setup your table. Set out your Check-in Sheet and Score Sheet.

#2 Get your students in the holding area. This is the On-Deck Circle. The students will line up here to wait until they go in to Prep for their Roleplay. You might have to call out the names.  If someone does not show up, put another student in the line! You will  hand students their Scoring Sheet. Talk to them and try to calm them done. This is a semi-quiet zone.

#3 At their prep time, bring the students to the prep are and have them sit down. Tell them they have 10 minutes to prep or 30 minutes to prep(for the Team Decision Making Events).

#4 Start the 10 or 30 minute timer. During this time. Get the next students in the Holding area(Step #1).

#5 After the Prep Time, take the students or teams to the judges area. Make sure to take each student or team to each judge and drop them off. You can say 'Here is your judge or You are here'. Just to let the students know where to go.

#6 Start the 10 or 15 minute timer. Prep the next students

#7 At the end of the time, tell the students that their time is up and have them leave the room. Bring in the next group.

DO IT AGAIN! START OVER AT #2.
